Wolfgang Nickl

Wolfgang Nickl has been serving as a member of the Board of Management of Bayer AG since April 26, 2018. As of June 1, 2018, he assumed responsibility for Finance as the Chief Financial Officer, as well as oversight of the North American region.
Nickl began his professional career in 1992 as a consultant and controller for the German IT service provider SerCon. In 1995, he joined Western Digital Corporation in San José, California, a leading manufacturer of hard disk drives and data storage products. His early roles included Business Planning Manager in the Netherlands and Director of Business Solutions in the United States. In 2000, Nickl became CFO of the IT company Converge in the U.S. Two years later, he returned to Western Digital, where he held various finance positions with increasing responsibility and led World Business Operations. In 2010, he was promoted to Chief Financial Officer of Western Digital. In December 2013, Nickl moved to the Netherlands to join ASML N.V. as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer.
Wolfgang Nickl earned his Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) from the University of Cooperative Education Stuttgart and later completed an MBA from the Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles.
