Dr. Hannes Ametsreiter

Dr. Hannes Ametsreiter has served as CEO of Vodafone Germany and a member of the Vodafone Group Executive Committee since October 1, 2015. A Salzburg native, he is a highly respected figure in the telecommunications industry, with over 19 years of experience in convergent markets and deep expertise in marketing and brand management.

Prior to joining Vodafone, Dr. Ametsreiter was Chairman of the Management Board and CEO of the Telekom Austria Group—operating across eight countries—for six years. He also held the role of CEO at A1 Telekom, formed through the merger of Mobilkom Austria AG and Telekom Austria TA AG.

During his tenure, he built extensive knowledge across mobile communications, DSL, cable, and TV services. He led 15 acquisitions, primarily in the cable sector, and brings long-standing experience in corporate finance to his executive profile.
